Mime has collaborated with the Open Data Institute (ODI) to produce a report and two data tools, launched today, that explore the current data landscape in the cost of living crisis.
The Cost of Living: How data can help tackle the crisis report examines the existing data relating to the cost of living crisis, looking in particular at debt, housing, food and fuel. The report shows that the crisis has disproportionately affected young people, who are facing financial difficulties across all four domains. However, the analysis reveals gaps and inconsistencies in the data, with certain individuals and groups being missed completely and disparities in how data are captured by different organisations.
The two data tools bring together 100 datasets from more than 50 sources to show the impact of the cost of living crisis and information on support services at a local level.
