Project: SEN modelling
Client: London Councils
London Councils is an organisation that represents all 33 London councils. On behalf of them, we developed a model to forecast the future participation of pupils with SEN in post-16 education across London.
We developed a regional baseline against which we projected existing trends forward in order to show how the demands for particular types of post-16 SEN provision are likely to change over the next 5 years. We also developed an interactive SEN provider map to allow the matching of projected demand.
For the first time, London authorities had a consistent analysis framework to make informed commissioning decisions for post-16 SEN provision. The model has been used to support a number of local authorities’ capital bids and helped bring £11m of capital funding into London.
