The Open University was looking to make use of its learning analytics in regularly reported visual dashboards. We set up prototype data visualisation workbooks in Tableau Desktop to:

• Provide visualisations on expected behavioural outcomes of interventions using the identified data streams for example web logs, click through to websites, dwell time or time logged on
• Enable the data visualisations to be replicated using refresh data.

A key feature of this project was to ensure that we developed visually engaging depictions of complex data for different audiences at both executive and operational level.
