Project: Data analysis and insights strategy
Client: The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas)
Acas, (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) are the independent, government funded body that works with employers and employees to improve workplace relationships. Through their interactions with millions of people each year, they collected a huge amount of valuable data, but lacked a coherent data and insights strategy. We worked with Acas over a few months to understand their existing data infrastructure and their future data and insights requirements. We then produced a strategy, with a clear roadmap for implementation.
Key considerations
- Business needs – what data and insights were required to meet wider organisational strategy and business plans
- Data collection – what and how data should be collected
- Data analysis – what insights do Acas want from their data
- Sharing and use of insights – how to share data analysis to ensure this feeds through into actions
Making recommendations
We developed an action plan that set actions to take across three themes:
- Culture and processes
- Data collection and analysis systems
- Production of analysis and insight
