We are excited to announce that we have been selected to be the data partner of London Councils’ Young People’s Education and Skills (YPES) team who are the lead strategic body for pan-London 14-19 education and training services. YPES provide advice on 14-19 education and training provision in relation to the current and future needs of learners and employers as well as assisting other stakeholders in planning, policy and provision. Our work with them will involve producing an interactive online data dashboard, as well as a number of ad hoc analysis projects.
Our previous projects, particularly those surrounding detailed 14-19 analysis across London, make us very well placed for this project, and allow us to draw on a diverse array of datasets on young people. Our analysis will be used to be inform policy direction in Local Authorities and schools across London helping direct pupils to take the best educational route and achieve their full potential.
Clear and attractive presentation of data on young people, often in an interactive dashboard format, is key to the majority of projects we deliver. This project is just entering the planning phase but we are likely to be using elements such as dynamic infographics and map-based data visualisations in order to help stakeholders pull out key conclusions. One of the main aims is to present data on young people’s education and skills online, allowing local authority colleagues and other interested parties to visualise data both for their locality and pan-London. The project should be a major step forward and aims to save many hours of searching the internet for data on young people. Keep an eye on the blog for further updates!
